Ros? Wine by Philip Shaw from Australia. Ruby red in color with vibrant blossom perfume aromas with underlying richness of dark mulberry and integrated spice. The palate displays dark summer cherry, black currant with a touch of cigar box, which are integrated with soft but firm tannins. Pink Billy is our show girl Rose. The name came from frustrating beginnings, when Billy kept demanding attention during ferment, things just went wrong - however she always showed up better for the experience and was christened Pink Billy. Pink Billy is a team effort between Scott (viticulturist), Jo (winemaker) and myself (Philip Shaw); the resultant wine is a very serious yet unforgettable example of what this style should be. At its best Rose is powerful of flavour and bright of fruit, without any distinctive varietals.

Ros? Wine by Belle Glos from Sonoma County, California. Clear, crystalline medium rose-salmon color. Aromas of vine-ripened strawberries and green apples, with background notes of sweet oak. On the palate, abundant flavors of cranberry, pomegranate and crisp Fuji apples. Through the finish, the wine opens to a more opulent array of crisp, tangy fruits. A long, red-fruit-driven finish completes this lighter expression of classic Pinot Noir. Best enjoyed well chilled. Wonderfully fruity, but free of even the least hint of candy, and all Pinot Noir in its keen focus on cherries and plums, this pale, salmon-hued working has a nice sense of vinous substance and more fruity depth than most of the competition, but it is always lively and light on its feet. Well-placed acidity counters its scant touch of residual sugar, and its brisk, long-lasting finish is both cleansing and filled with flavor. -Connoisseurs' Guide

Ros? Wine by Tablas Creek from Central Coast, California. Blend: 60% Mourvedre, 28% Grenache, 12% Counoise The Tablas Creek Vineyard Rose 2006 is a blend of three estate-grown varietals, propagated from budwood cuttings from the Chateau de Beaucastel estate. The blend is traditional of the southern Rhone, though the blend of grapes is predominantly Mourvedre, and therefore more like the solid, dry roses of Bandol than the lighter Grenache-based Tavel. The 2006 Rose is rich, ripe, and full of spice and fruit. It has aromatics of sage and juniper, as well as white plum and watermelon, flavors of ripe strawberries, fresh acidity and a lingering finish. Ros? Wine by Simi from Sonoma County, California. Giuseppe and Pietro Simi's daughter Isabelle took over management of the winery at the age of 18 and ran it successfully until 1970 when she retired. Over the years, Isabelle planted her Roseto, Italian for rose garden, with a new rose planted in honor of each new U.S. President (except, of course, for President Herbert Hoover, who enacted Prohibition in 1920). To this day, Isabelle's Roseto blooms fragrantly for visitors at the winery's century-old cellars in Healdsburg. A tribute to Isabelle, its dry, delightfully fresh, crisp and juicy style honors her legacy.
